As you move into the first full week of 2026, three days after Mercury left and ended all planetary activity in an adventurous part of your chart, the Moon is making a valiant attempt to maintain a balance between work and play, under mounting odds as it makes its first visit to a playful and creative part of your chart for the year. With no planetary activity here until June and knowing that by Wednesday it will be making its first visit to your work sector for the year, the playful and creative lunar vibes on Monday and Tuesday need to be embraced. However, this is in the face of a powerful start to the new professional year, with the Sun, Venus and Mars spending the majority of the week aligned in your career sector, with the Moon’s return to your career sector on Wednesday highlighting the growing support across the income, work and career fronts. After the weekend’s Full Moon and its work/life balance reminders, the more you can put some guardrails in place at the start of the week the better.

	Taurus	Monday 05 January 2026	Apr 20 - May 20
Because the Sun will always spend the first three weeks of January in your sector of adventure, travel, learning and discovery, the solar spotlight is always on the adventurous side of life’s fence at this time of year. However, rarely with so much support and also all coming together at the same time. This is something that is an advantage on the playful, creative and adventurous side of life’s fence now, but in the long term lends itself to busier times ahead. The week not only begins with the Sun, Mercury, Mars, Venus and even the asteroid Juno here, but all closely aligned to the South Node in a playful and creative part of your chart. However, these are fast moving planets and within two weeks and within the space of just a few days, they will all leave and return to your career sector in mass. That tilt towards the playful, creative and adventurous side of life’s fence now will, in just a few weeks, tilt to the other side of life’s fence. This makes it important to put guardrails in place while there is the will and the means.

While the Moon will leave your income sector on Monday, bringing the first Full Moon of 2026 to a close, on both sides of the financial fence and even professionally, the impact is going to linger. This is a Full Moon that will always fall at some point during the Sun’s month long visit to your financial sector, which will always extend through the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year. This is the point in any year when the solar spotlight is always on your financial situation and money matters, and on the side of the financial fence when it is more about what you do with and how you manage the money you have. On the other hand, the weekend’s Full Moon was all about the income side of the financial fence and for the first time in 12 years, with lucky Jupiter here and able to run with anything this might have triggered. This was also the Moon’s last visit before Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams leaves your career sector later in the month.

It is a given that with the Sun always spending the first three weeks of January in your relationship sector that the solar spotlight will be on your relationships at this time of year. It is also a given that at some point during the Sun’s month long visit the Moon will return to Cancer, where they will clash as a Full Moon. This is a Full Moon that will always fall at the halfway point of your birthday month and at a time when the focus is more on your relationships, by putting a balance between your own and your relationship needs to the test, allowing you to better understand both. For the first time in 12 years, it comes while you have Jupiter in Cancer, with his quest to see you take your personal power back making it harder to compromise or settle for less. This runs the risk of some personal and/or relationship tension, but with Mercury, the planet of communication in his first full week in your relationship sector and the Moon returning to your communication sector on Wednesday, with plenty of support from the communication gods.
